Diverse artistic genres celebrated as part of UNCW ArtsFest

WILMINGTON – From art exhibits to creative writing readings, film screenings and theater performances, UNCW presents a free, all-day arts festival.

UNCW’s ArtsFest 2024 showcases student talent, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Building, 5270 Randall Dr.

Here is a breakdown of the events:

  • From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., attendees can experience UNCW’s current exhibition: Donald Furst’s “Fifty Years of Printmaking.”
  • Musical performances taking place at the festival include pop and rock concerts in the lobby of the Cultural Arts Building at 11 a.m.
  • At 2 p.m., attendees can stop by Beckwith Recital Hall at the CAB to see saxophone quartet, piano, and theater performances.
  • The creative writing department will present MFA and BFA readings in Beckwith Recital Hall, at 12 pm and 3 pm, respectively.
  • The Flicker Film Society and MFA Film screenings will be at 1 and 5 p.m. at Beckwith Recital Hall.
  • An interactive printing experience, PrintMovement, presented by the Art and Art History departments will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the CAB lobby.
  • Dance, improv and Shakespeare performances will take place in the CAB lobby at 4 pm.
  • In the CAB BlackBox theater, the theater department’s Student Lab Shows presents “A Night You Won’t Remember” at 7:30 p.m.
  • At 7:30 p.m., the Student Theater Club’s “Ride The Cyclone” performs at the UNCW Amphitheater.
