Goalie's blunder cements Champions League finals

Real Madrid has defeated Bayern Munich in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final, surging back from one goal down to win 2-1 at Santiago Bernabeu and go through to the final against Borussia Dortmund.

In a frenetic contest, Bayern only took the lead in the 68th minute after a brilliant Alphonso Davies goal from long range (video below).

Up to that point, Madrid looked the more threatening side led by Vincius Jr.

“If you look at it very closely, it does take a little bit of a bounce off the turf – but a goalkeeper of that class, come on. You should be gobbling that up,” said former Premier League goalkeeper Mark Bosnich on Stan Sport’s coverage.

That put them level and just two minutes later in the 90th minute, Joselu scored again.

Madrid had to wait for confirmation after the sideline referee called Joselu offside, only for the video assistant referee to overturn the decision and award the goal.

Nine minutes of added time blew out to 15 in the end.

Bayern looked like they might have equalised at the death only for the whistle to have been blown for offside before the ball went into the goal.
