In the east of the Netherlands, an unknown person took hostages in a club

In the eastern Netherlands in the city of Ede, an unknown person took several hostages in a nightclub. Special police units are on the scene. Residents of 150 houses around the hostage-taking site were evacuated.

According to local media reports, the man came in in a cafe with weapons and explosives and threatened to blow up the building. It is unknown how many people the attacker managed to capture. Journalists note that we are talking about four or five people.

The cafe owner told De Telegraaf that his employees were being held hostage. According to the owner, there were no conflicts with visitors to the establishment before the seizure of people.

Three of those captured were released. On the spot works negotiator

The police call the situation very serious, but there is no information about the hijacker’s demands. The intelligence services have not yet observed any signs of a terrorist attack.
