In the east of the Netherlands, hostages taken in a club were freed

In the eastern Netherlands in the city of Ede, all hostages held in a club were released. They were previously captured by an unknown person. Presumably he was detained.

Special police units were at the scene. Residents of 150 houses around the hostage-taking site were evacuated.

According to local media reports, on Saturday morning a person came in into the nightclub where the party had ended, with weapons and explosives and threatened to blow up the building.

The cafe owner told De Telegraaf that his employees were among the hostages. According to the owner, there were no conflicts with visitors to the establishment before the seizure of people.

On the spot have worked negotiator

The police and intelligence services did not observe any signs of a terrorist attack in the actions of the hostage taker, but called the situation very serious.
