Extra News channel showed a television report on Egyptian political and popular support for the Palestinian cause. The report stated that President Sisi launched an operations room to follow up on the crisis from its first day, conduct intensive contacts with countries of the world and initiate mediation to limit the aggravation of the crisis.

The report pointed out that Egypt mobilized civil and party efforts to collect aid for the people of Gaza urgently, and that the Egyptian leadership extrapolated Israeli efforts to liquidate the Palestinian issue, and coordinated with countries around the world to pressure Israel to cease fire.

Egypt issued a call to hold the Cairo Peace Summit, which was met with a broad international response, calling for the resumption of the peace process, offering unconditional mediation between the Palestinians and Israelis, holding a meeting of the National Security Council, and affirming sovereignty over Sinai.
