Russia and Ukraine carried out a new exchange of bodies of military personnel

Russia and Ukraine carried out another exchange of bodies of dead servicemen. The Russian side returned 29 bodies of Russians. Ukraine – 121 Ukrainians.

Ukrainian headquarters clarifiedthat it was possible to return the bodies of the victims with the help of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and other structures. According to the headquarters, 107 dead were transferred from the Donetsk direction, 12 bodies – from Lugansk and 2 bodies – from Zaporozhye.

The last time the exchange took place was March 15. Then Ukraine handed over 69 bodies to Russia, and Russia to Ukraine – 100.

In March, Russian Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova announced the completion of examinations on the bodies of Ukrainian prisoners of war, who, according to Moscow, died at the end of January in the crash of an Il-76 plane in the Belgorod region. Moskalkova said that Ukraine was ready to accept the bodies, but whether they were handed over was not officially reported.
