Washington: We are holding talks with the authority about post-war management of Gaza

The US State Department announced that it is holding talks with the Palestinian National Authority about managing the Gaza Strip in the post-war period. US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said during a press conference on Thursday that “one of the principles is that the Palestinian Authority must administer the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.”

He continued: “Therefore, we are holding talks with partner countries in the region and with the Palestinian Authority about how to achieve this.”

The spokesman pointed out that “There are various proposals under discussion. I will not reveal its details,” adding: “But we are cooperating with the Palestinian Authority and the countries of the region alike on all issues related to the post-conflict period that may face the Gaza Strip.”
